What is Prime Minister Internship Scheme?
The Government of India has started an internship scheme to reduce the problem of unemployment faced by the youth. Under this scheme, the government will provide employment to one crore youth by giving them internship opportunities in the next 5 years. Under this internship scheme, stipend will also be arranged by the government and along with that, the government will also provide some other benefits to the beneficiary youth associated with the scheme.
Who can apply in this scheme?
The government has fixed some eligibility criteria to apply for the scheme. In PM Internship Scheme, higher secondary education and high school education must be completed. Along with this, the youth should have ITI certificate, diploma from Polytechnic Institute, or degree like BA, BSc, BCom BCA, BBA or B Pharma. If someone is studying for any degree through distance program. So he can also apply for this scheme. To apply for the scheme, the age of the candidates should be between 21 to 24 years.
Youth will get these benefits along with stipend
PM Internship Scheme will be for 12 months. In this internship scheme, Rs 500 will be given to the youth by the company. So Rs 4500 will be given by the government. That means a total of Rs 5000 will be given to the youth as stipend. Apart from this, under the PM Internship Scheme, the beneficiaries will be given a separate facility of Rs 6000 for incidental expenses.
